总之，激进主义思潮不是一个独立的思潮，它更多地表现为激进思想家们的价值取向、对待社会的态度和对待不同文明的主张。其实，这些思想家绝大多数都是现代文明的受益者，尽管他们是反叛传统的，口头上拒绝现代社会，批判现代文明，但是，他们都没有从根本上真正地否定现行文明的有效性。他们只表达了某些社会阶层、社会族群或利益集团的情绪和态度。当然，这样的情绪和态度，不可视而不见，而需认真对待。
