The "Polaris" of Space Strategy

—Prospect of the Autonomous Navigation Technology for Deep Space Exploration

Abstract: Deep space exploration is an important part of China's space strategy, and is a new space technology area after the satellite application and manned space flight. Conventional navigation technology based on ground control is limited in terms of navigation precision, real-time navigation, coverage, reliability and so on, which is difficult to meet the demand of deep space exploration for high-precision real-time navigation. Therefore, this paper describes the new generation of autonomous navigation methods in detail, and looks into the prospect of the development trend of autonomous navigation technology for deep space exploration. Finally, the application of autonomous navigation in different stages of deep space exploration is analyzed. It can be predicted that with the deepening of deep space exploration activities, autonomous navigation technology will achieve greater development and also play a huge driving role in aerospace technology itself.
