在中美关系方面，特朗普一方面在经贸、朝鲜半岛问题乃至南海上频频发牌，力图从中为美国获取更多利益，但也逐渐认识到中美关系的全面性、复杂性及重要性。两国元首的成功会晤及高层交往频繁的互动与交流，为两国关系的健康平稳发展发挥了引领作用。四大新对话机制的建立与推进，为中美两国解决包括经贸等问题在内的棘手问题提供了新渠道与新动力，也为妥善管控分歧提供了机制保障。随着2017年11月特朗普就任后的首次访华，中美两国领导人将迎来共同把脉中美关系，寻求中美关系新共识，促进中美合作的新机遇。
展望未来，美俄关系的“冷淡”状况不会发生根本性变化，美国国会将继续为两国关系“吹冷风”。美印关系会朝着既定方向发展，两国在政治、经济乃至安全领域的合作会继续深化，但其重要性仍将居于次要地位。中美关系将继续呈现竞争与合作并存局面，但两国会努力管控分歧，并积极寻求新的合作点，确保中美关系的平稳及健康发展。
